OCS inventory executed from browser, request for TAG

Hi,

Im trying to configure OCSinventory to allow our customer to click on a weblink, and execute ocsinventory (portable installation).

The packager allows me to create a configuration which includes the target parameters, however when downloaded from a browser the experience is troublesome because the package is not signed.
I worked out how to sign the package with microsoft signtool, but I cant work out how to make the application request elevation (the portable mode does not work unless I run as administrator). I created the package with the OCS package tool.

Also, the silent mode is great for the portable installation but it would be really good to be silent but for the request for the TAG (which in our case would be the customer name or customer number).

I cant find any way to achieve this, so I thought I would ask for ideas....

Kind Regards,

Paul

Hi

Use /tag="my value" option with your command.

Hi Frank,

Thank you - I did know that I could do this (and I did test it).

In our case, we want the customer to specify this value and we dont know in advance which customer will be running the package (unless we create a separate package for each customer) and publish a url to their instance of OCS inventory.

Kind Regards,

Paul
