Hardware table: fields IPSRC / IPADDR

Hello,

In our database, in hardware table, there are two fields "IPADDR" and "IPSRC".

We would like to know what is the difference between these.

In a large majority of case, IPADDR and IPSRC have the same value, but in almost 2000 records, they are different.

Would anyone have an explanation?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

I think (I don't have the proof based on source code) that the IPADDR is the IP of the default adapter of the inventoried computer. The IPSRC is the IP which have commmunicated the inventory to the OCS servcer : the default adapter in most case, but sometime th IP of another adapter or ... the IP of a proxy server if you use one, or the IP of the slave in a master/slave configuration...

Regards,
Bexounet.
