<title>Different accountinfo behavior on Win11 builds</title>

<description>&lt;p&gt;Hello,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have a question regarding duplicate detection and archived devices in OCS Inventory.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Environment:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;OCS Agent version: 2.4.0.0&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;OCS Server version: Unknown&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here is the situation:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;A computer is archived from &quot;All Computers&quot;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Windows 11 is clean-installed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;The OCS agent is reinstalled on the same machine.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, the behavior differs depending on the Windows build version.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For PCs with OS version &quot;10.0.26200&quot;:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;A completely new inventory entry is created in &quot;All Computers&quot;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Information such as last seen time, computer name, user, and operating system is newly generated.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;User-defined account information (such as User, Department, Asset Number, TAG) is NOT inherited from the old archived record.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;For PCs with OS version &quot;10.0.26100&quot;:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;The normal inventory information (last seen time, computer name, user, OS, etc.) does NOT inherit the previous data.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, user-defined account information IS inherited from the old archived record.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;I compared the hardware information, network information, and management data between the two systems, but I could not find any meaningful differences other than the Windows build version.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I found documentation related to:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;&quot;Managing duplicates computers&quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;&quot;AUTO_DUPLICATE_LVL&quot;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;The documentation says that OCS can detect reinstalled or renamed computers automatically, and duplicate detection depends on matching values.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, I am not sure whether this behavior is actually related to duplicate detection, because only the user-defined account information is inherited while the normal inventory information is not.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My questions are:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Could there be any known reason why this different behavior occurs depending on the Windows build version (10.0.26200 vs 10.0.26100)?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Is there any internal logic related to duplicate detection, archived devices, or accountinfo inheritance that could explain this behavior?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;Could this behavior be related to hardware UUID, SID, registry values, or another identifier used internally by OCS Inventory?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thank you.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>This has happened in the companies I manage.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The OCS Agent services simply disappear.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In this case, I created a BAT/CMD script that validates the existence of the service; if it doesn't exist, it creates it pointing to the file in its correct directory.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If the file doesn't exist, it reinstalls the OCS Agent.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If everything is OK, it simply forces an inventory, which doesn't cause any harm.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

The inventory takes about 40 minutes to be sent to the server, and sometimes the agent crashes.&lt;br /&gt;

<description>&lt;p&gt;I recently faced an issue while installing the OCS Inventory NG Agent on a Windows machine, where the agent would not register with the OCS Server. Despite following the standard installation process, the agent installation seemed to complete successfully, but the registration with the server was still not happening. Here's the installation log I received during the process:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The setup process initially checked the system and seemed to go fine—ensuring the system was compatible (Windows 2000 or higher), and that the user had the necessary administrative privileges. However, I ran into issues when the setup tried to assign read/write permissions on the directory &lt;strong&gt;C:\ProgramData\OCS Inventory NG\Agent&lt;/strong&gt;. The following errors were logged:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;SetACL allowing Users / Power users read/write permissions...Result: error&lt;/em&gt; &lt;em&gt;SetACL propagating inherited permissions...Result: error&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;These errors indicated that the agent had trouble setting the correct permissions, which could be why the agent wasn't registering. It also tried to stop services and kill processes related to OCS Inventory, but had no success in terminating some processes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;After installation, the agent did not start properly, and there was no successful registration of the &lt;strong&gt;OCS Inventory Service&lt;/strong&gt; into the Windows Service Manager, which led me to believe there was an issue with the permissions or missing dependencies.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h3&gt;Here's what I did to resolve the issue:&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Recheck Permissions:&lt;/strong&gt; I manually ensured that the directory &lt;code&gt;C:\ProgramData\OCS Inventory NG\Agent&lt;/code&gt; had the correct read/write permissions for both Users and Power Users. I also ran the installer as Administrator.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Service Registration Issues:&lt;/strong&gt; I noticed that the service registration failed in the log. <description>Hey, I'm currently doing an internship and my job is to deploy ocs inventory on the network. My ocs 2.12.1 server is on debian 12. I've installed an agent 2.10.1.0 manually on a windows machine to check that everything was working, so far no problem. Now I'm getting down to the serious business of deploying my agent on the network using the agent deployment tool. I added psexec, putty and pscp in the options, then I added the range of ip addresses on which I want to deploy my agents (I don't use the active directory, because some computers on the network aren't connected to the domain), then I followed the official documentation for the rest as well as several different tutorials and here I am at the moment of deploying by pressing start and that's when the problems start.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here are the 2 error messages I may encounter:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Host &amp;lt;172.16.142.10&amp;gt; *** ERROR *** Connecting remote host: The network path was not found.&lt;br /&gt;

I am having an issue when sending the agent's info on the server. I get an http 403 error when trying to access to the http://myServerIp/ocsinventory.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When installing the agent and choosing the address, I am making sure it is in the correct way (aka http://myServerIp/ocsinventory)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
However the server can't receive the agent's info.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The OcsReports panel seems to be installed proprely and correctly. I have fully access to http://myServerIp/ocsreports.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I put the correct database name, username and password in the configuration files.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After checking the agent's logs, i can see that there is an http error 403, http://myServerIP/ocsinventory access being forbidden.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I have tried searching on the internet but i haven't found any solution, and I have reinstalled a second time to server to make sure I installed the server correctly.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here's a list of what ive tried :&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Updated my system&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Install php extensions and packages required by the server&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Install and enable perl modules&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Create a database&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Download, configurate the setup.sh (with correct db user and db password) and install&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Configurate (put the correct db name, db user and db password) and enable the 3 .conf files&lt;br /&gt;
- Change the ownership of &amp;nbsp;the ocsinventory-reports directory to www-data user, and change the permission to 755&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- And finally finishing the installation on http://MyServerIp/ocsreports, and delete the installer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Please help&lt;br /&gt;

<title>Remontée d'inventaire</title>

<description>Bonjour,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
J'ai une petite question concernant la remontée d'inventaire d'OCS Inventory.&lt;br /&gt;
En effet, j'ai configuré mon serveur OCS qui est fonctionnel. J'ai donc effectué le déploiement de l'agent OCS Windows sur les postes de mon parc informatique.&lt;br /&gt;
Les machines remontent correctement sur le serveur mais lorsque les machines sont éteintes et redémarrées, l'inventaire ne se refait pas.&lt;br /&gt;
Il faut que je relance à la main l'agent avec la configuration qu'il faut.&lt;br /&gt;
Sauriez vous m'aider a ce sujet pour que je n'ai pas a devoir le refaire manuellement ?&lt;br /&gt;

<title>No TAG en ocs</title>

<description>Buenas tardes, tengo un problema con los TAG, estoy montando equipos con Windows 11 y agente de ocs 2.10.1 y aunque les especifico el tag no lo carga en el ocs, sin embargo los equipos con windows 10 no hay problema y hay otros windows 11 (vienen de ser actualizados desde w10) que tampoco tienen problema.&lt;br /&gt;

<title>OCS Agent Plugin doesn't send results to server</title>

The OCS Inventory Agent equipped with a plugin (C:\Program Files\OCS Inventory Agent\Plugins) to scan for java installations only sends the plugin result from time to time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure out a pattern.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The more detailed version:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We are currently trying to scan for Java installations on our clients that use windows and linux.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In order to do that we created an OCS Inventory Agent extension that is a powershell script for windows and a shell script for linux.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The scan results are written into the SOFTWARES table of the ocs inventory database.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Agent Plugins seem to work in general. But here is my problem:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The majority of our agents do scan with the help of the plugins and send an inventory to the server. But it's not working continously. Meaning that on Monday the agent scans and sends the result to the server. On Tuesday the agent scans again and sends the general inventory, but lacking the result of the plugin.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We use OCS Inventory Server 2.12.0 on Ubuntu 22.04 and OCS Inventory Agents with various versions ranging from 2.6.0.0 to 2.10.1.0.&lt;br /&gt;

Mon fichier zippé fait 90 000 ko&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Je n'ai pas de problème avec des petits fichiers.&lt;br /&gt;

<title>Users software inventory</title>

I'm facing a trouble with the software inventory.&lt;br /&gt;
Looking for a software on a computer, i have realised that it wasn't in the inventory.&lt;br /&gt;
I checked on the computer, checked in the &amp;quot;Add/Remove Programs&amp;quot; (old and new versions) : the program is well installed, works, and is listed in both Add/Remove Programs interfaces.&lt;br /&gt;
But ... not in the list for this computer in OCS Server ...&lt;br /&gt;
The only reason I have found is : it wasn't installed for &amp;quot;all the users&amp;quot;, but only for current user.&lt;br /&gt;
I checked with another software .:&lt;br /&gt;
All what is in : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;doesn't appear in the software list in OCS Inventory.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Is there any way to be sure that ALL the softwares will be inventoried ?&lt;br /&gt;
Is there a setting to include them ?&lt;br /&gt;
Is there an add-on for that ?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is a real trouble, because i can't rely on a software which can hide me a part of the softwares installed on our computers.&lt;br /&gt;

<title>j'ai une erreur EXIT_CODE_1</title>

J'ai fait plusieurs essais de déploiement&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- si je déploie un paquet pour le stocker dans un fichier d'un ordinateur client =&amp;gt;je n'ai pas de problème.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- si je déploie un paquet avec un fichier .exe et que j'essaie de l'executer =&amp;gt; j'ai un retour EXIT_CODE_1&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
voici ce que j'ai dans le fichier log:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

J'ai pu remarqué qu'avant l'echec je retrouve les fichiers dans c:\windows\temp\1700582931.ocs\&lt;br /&gt;
- OCSNG-Windows-Agent-PackageID&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Testocs.exe&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Par contre le fichier &amp;quot;Testocs.exe&amp;quot; n'est pas exécuté&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
J'ai fait l'essai en arrétant l'antivirus et j'ai le même problème.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Auriez vous une idée merci&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Je retrouve mon executable dans le gestionnaire des taches, commeci il etait bien lancé, mais il ne se passe rien.</description>

<title>Deploy Software (exe) on Windows</title>

I have deployed OCS Inventory Server on Linux (version 2.11.1) and I have installed the agent (default .ini configuration) and I have verified that the server correctly receives the client information.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Once this was done, I tried to deploy an .exe (Notepad++) on the client (Windows Server) but it didn't deploy it, I tried putting the .exe in a zip and it didn't either.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Do I have to configure anything further on the server or in the OCS Inventory Windows Agent .ini file?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

I have no idea about these things, so I'm not very clear where I went wrong, but from what I see in the log I should find in the folder &amp;quot;C:\ProgramData\OCS Inventory NG\Agent&amp;quot; the famous &amp;quot;cacert.pem ». Where can you get that certificate? Is it generated on the server and put on the client, or is it generated on the client? All of this probably has obvious answers, but as I told you, I have no knowledge about servers, certificates and these things, and I basically limited myself to following tutorials. I have to say that the server apparently seems to be running correctly (I can log in to their website without problems), but as the error says, it does not record clients data (everything appears as 0)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It seems strange to me because a couple of years ago I had installed this without problems and everything seemed to apparently work correctly, but in the end I didn't get to use it, I deleted the PC used as a server (Ubuntu 20.04)</description>

<title>Déploiement application .msi</title>

J'essaie de déployer une application (PuTTY) sur mon serveur Linux via l'interface OCS Inventory. Je crée mon paquet, je lance le processus et j'ai bien le paquet qui arrive. Hors il ne s'exécute pas et mon application n'est pas créée. Je pense que c'est dû aux arguments que je mets dans la création du paquet et je ne sais pas quel argument je dois mettre pour que quand le paquet arrive il s'installe.&lt;br /&gt;

<title>Télédéploiement problème avec le fichier log</title>

Je viens de télédeployer une application sur mon Windows, le télédéploiement se fait bien cependant mon fichier log ne se met plus à jour depuis le télédéploiement. Mes inventaires se font toujours bien mais pas de remontée dans le fichier de log.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
J'ai également une autre question concernant le télédéploiement d'un plugin linux (CronTask). A la fin du procéssus j'ai ces fichiers : 1691394131-1 &amp;nbsp;info &amp;nbsp;since &amp;nbsp;task &amp;nbsp;task_done .Je ne vois pas quoi faire maintenant pour faire fonctionner mon plugin? je n'ai pas bien compris à quoi correspondent les fichiers reçus.&lt;br /&gt;

<title>How to update the Windows Agent correctly?</title>

<description>Hi, i have this situation&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Server version 2.11.1&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
User agent :OCS-NG_WINDOWS_AGENT_v2.9.2.0&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
and i want to upgrade the agent software but i can't find an official tutorial. On issue page on github there is a open issue for the downloader that remain on older version.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Someone have some instruction?&lt;br /&gt;

<title>Problem in building OCS Windows Agent</title>

<description>Hello, I am trying to compile OCS Windows Agent on my Windows 10 Pro Machine. I have did it earlier once but now I need to move setup to a new machine. Apparently, I have followed all the steps including building dependencies, building all projects for x64 release with no error or so. After making exe by NSIS, I test run the agent, but I see non-recognizable characters in installation logs. After that, the service does not start automatically, and I get 1062 error. I do not know what could be the reason even if the compilation was successful. I will appreciate any response from you. For your reference, below are installation logs:&lt;br /&gt;
