Hello,

How to add a field "FILE" in administrative data?

When I add a file, I only get those field types:

TEXT
TEXTAREA
SELECT
CHECKBOX
DATE
RADIOBUTTON
NUMBER

I am sure I was able to add a field in which I could put a file, before in a previous version of OCS.

Error modifying config

Everytime i try to modify config like
ADVANCE_CONFIGURATION 0 -> 1

I can change in the database itself and it changes

The config in /etc/ocsinventory-reports/dbconfig.inc.php is correct and has read and write. (var.php i also pointing to that config)

I am running version 2.11.1

I cant figure out why this is.
Similar error when changing ADVANCE_CONFIGURATION in DB then trying to access LDAP Settings, just getting a blank page.
Any idea what could be wrong would be appreciated.
The OCS-Server itself works fine and have no issues except that i cant manually change configs using the web UI

I've create many categories

in all software list the categories a not affected to the software

I've run the php script (cron_all_software.php) and no changes
some software are not avalaible in the list to be add to the category list

I would like to execute automatically one Powershell script in Agents throught http://localhost/ocsreports/.

I am not sure if I am doing well. This is what I do:

Access to http://localhost/ocsreports/
Deployment > Build
Select Windows OS > Scripts > Powershell script.
Fill name and description and enter de script.
Click on Validate.

After clicking, I don't receive any successfully message. I don't receive error message neither, so I assume that the package is correctly created.

However, I go to Deployment>Activate, and the package is not listed in "Available Packages".

If I navigate to the computer (in which I want to execute the script) and go to Deployment > Add Packages, I select the "Sue the advanced options of teledeploy" to YES. But the package is not displayed neither.

However, If I navigate to /var/lib/ocsinventory-reports/download the script is successfully created.

What I am doing wrong?

This is my server Information:

PHP Version : 7.3.33

Web Server : Apache/2.4.37 (Rocky Linux) mod_perl/2.0.12 Perl/v5.26.3

Merging the itmanagement-notes with duplicates?

Situation:

I have a computer with several "Notes" attached in its administrative data. Suddenly (or not so) the duplicate of this computer appeared. I merged these duplicates and the notes from older computer will be lost with the old data. Notes attached to newer computer will remain.

The only way to save old notes I found, is to change the hardware_id of old notes to the hwid of newer duplicate.

Admin data TEXTAREA vs TEXT

Before 2.5 there were two types of the texts in administrative data: TEXTAREA (multi-line) and TEXT (single line).

These types remains in 2.12, but since 2.5 the textarea displayed as text.

For example: (real code taken from my inventory). FIEILDS_41 declared as TEXTAREA.
but I see it as single line text

When I changed the HTML (using Chrome built-in devtools) to:

<textarea name="fields_41" id="fields_41" rows="5" cols="40"></textarea>

I saw what I want: multiline text area. What and where should be corrected in php's to show the textarea as TEXT AREA, not as single line text?

Password: which characters are allowed?

Hi,

which characters can be used for the password? In the documentation there is no indication for that.

We have a user, who wants to use a password with 32 characters and he generates the password with the help of a password generator app. When he changes the initial password, then he gets the message, that the data has been updated but when he tries to log in with the new credentials there is the error message "no user provided". There seems to be a restriction which characters are allowed.

We keep records of computers based on tags in OCS.
Unfortunately, on September 13 something happened - since that day no new device is visible in the OCS panel.
I have connectivity to the server, the database works, the database password also matches. It's just that computers added using installers are not visible, and old ones are not refreshed.

Where can I start in the search for problems?

Hy, with ocs-inventory 2.12.1 i want to search for computers with a specific name and a specific package which is "waiting notified"

In ocsinventory 2.05 i can do that with

Computer name EXACTLI examplename and

deployment: Packages "having "FOR THE PACKAGE" gimp in state "waiting notified"

I searched through nearly all settings but cant find a similar search.

The package deployment statistics does not help because i want to combine searches (computername, free space and so on)

Bonjour,

Sur un serveur de test fraichement installé en 2.12, le télédéploiement d'un fichier via "Déploiement / Windows / Autre / Store", le fichier arrive bien sur l'emplacement désiré mais avec l'attribut 'Caché' (Hidden).

Le même process via notre serveur de production en 2.6 se passe normalement et le fichier est bien copié et apparait normalement.

J'avoue ne pas comprendre pourquoi...

Sending a massive deployment of a 7-zip updated package to install to almost 150 Windows computers. Now i need to follow the deployment, I cant spend hours looking 1 by 1 each computer (client) to verify the package deployment status (waiting notif., notified, success, error,...). I will left the server information, are there a way to know the status of a massive package deploy ? Thks.

I manually ran "/usr/bin/php cron_ipdiscover.php" but didn't notice any difference.

Error collecting data on VMs

I'm using a Virtualbox environment to test OCS. In the image below it is shown that two machines were found. Some hardware information is shown.

When clicking on "vm-cliente-02" I notice that the memory information does not appear.

When viewing the host softwares, I have the following list:

When I try to view all software known by OCS nothing is shown.

Hi, we did an upgrade from 2.8 on Debian Buster to 2.11.1 on Bullsey.

Everything works and looks fine. But we can´t deploy new packages.

Under Deployment -> Build the "Package builder" site opens (looks fully changed to 2.8) and we have to choose the operation system... Windows / Linux or MacOS. But if we click on one, nothing happens..

The URL in browser is "https://servername/ocsreports/index.php?function=tele_build".

I looked in all errorlogs i could find... nothing. Any ideas?!

J'ai essayé avec un compte personnel disposant des privilèges maximum (sadmin) et avec le compte "admin". Je ne comprends pas comment je peux avoir cette erreur alors que j'ai des privilèges maximum.

I have searched but can't find any info about this.

How does OCS Inventory do the purging of your inventory assets?

What happens when a computer is no longer responding? or the agent is uninstalled? or it is formatted or deleted?

In the OCS administrative console I still see the assets, it does not perform auto purge on non-live assets? How is it possible to keep the inventory updated in this way?

J'ai créé des recherches avec un compte super administrateur (sadmin) et je ne peux pas les utiliser avec les comptes administrateur (admin). J'ai une erreur de connexion "Acces denied" alors que le compte de type admin est autoriser aux recherches enregistrées : serveur OCS 2.11.1 installé avec les paramétrages par défaut coté profils utilisateurs.

"All Software" not filling up (Docker / V2.11)

Hi,

in the docker version of ocsinventory (V2.11) the "all software" tab is not fillng up.

Ok, I know the cron-job has to be run to fill it. But in the docker version, this is missing.

I have to do following manually:

docker exec -it ocsinventory-server  /bin/bash
cd /usr/share/ocsinventory-reports/ocsreports/crontab/ && php cron_cve

Why is the cron-job missing in the docker version?

IpDiscovery don't show a list of networks

After server update to 2.10.0

OCS Inventory is in Docker. After the update, all the information remained in place, except for the list of networks (there were a lot of them). Only those networks remained, on which "Force IpDiscover" was manually enabled

If you manually add a network from one of the devices and name it, data from this network will immediately appear in the list of IpDiscovery networks.

That is, the information is there, but it is not shown.

Please tell me how to enable the display of all networks.

on ocsreports several menu items disappeared

Hello,

I'm new to ocs and am quite impressed of the software, so THANKs to all the developers!

I've installed the server from the deb-packages on a freshly installed ubuntu 22.04 and could register one client.

While trying to deploy a software packege, I run in to the following problem:

When I tryed to build a deployment package fro a msi file, everything seemed to work fine, but the package never showed up in for activation.
Somewhere I read, that for SW-deployment, the server had to have a working ssl-configuration. So I installed generated certificates and instelled them to apache, which worked fine so far.

My problem is, that after I installed the ssl-site, in the admin console (ocsreports) several Menu items disappeared. The whole configuration-Menu doesn't show up anymore, and on the deployment-Menu I just have the activate option.

Any suggestions on what is goinig on?

no email was sent to me. So I tried messing with the HOST option and SNMP, it didn't work either.

After that I added my email/password in the optional columns here:

NOTIF_USER_SMTP/NOTIF_PASSWD_SMTP.

I still haven't received any email.

So, it has already been configured so that the email does not arrive in the box informed above. My OS is centos7.

And I would also like to know if I can configure for any changes made to the hardware to receive notification emails and how to configure this configuration that I did not find in the official document.

we are using OCS, and it's really good. We love it.

SPECS:

Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, PHP 7.4.3, running through Apache2

OCS v2.9.2

What we need is the possibility to upload some PDF/Doc to each computer (i.e. computer warranty, invoice... and something like this.)

If this possibility is already included, how can I enable this feature?

Superadmin navigation is very slow

When I use OCS Inventory 2.90 with the admin account, every action is super slow.
same, slow if I create another user (than admin) as superadmin.
Under a Lambda user in admin, the times are correct.
An idea of the problem ?

Lorsque j'utilise OCS Inventory 2.90 avec le compte admin, chaque action est super lente.

Idem, problème de lenteur si je crée un autre utilisateur (qu'admin) en superadmin.

Sous un utilsateur Lambda en admin, les temps sont correctes.
Une idée du probléme ?

Software not filling up in 'My Dashboard'

I have OCS 2.9.1 running, recently discovered and installed. When I was troubleshooting a different issue, I noticed that my software category is left empty.

Is there something I need to add manually or why is this not filling itself up with data?

I created a 'default category' along with some others, but that doesn't seem to change anything.

We're using OCS for ou assets inventory. When we have to replace a computer we're using it in order to export/view software list and find which sotware need to be reinstalled. But I'm searching for a simple report or sql query where I can directly have for a dedicated device (where device name is a variable) the software list with some exclusions (like all Microsoft update, all constructors software, etc.). I just want to see software that need to be installed (Collaboration tools, 7-Zip, Adobe, Autocad, etc.).

Do you know if it's possible ?

LDAP sadmin user not able to save query - OCS2.9.2

I have CentOS 8 and OCS 2.9.2 installed via RPM. I have configured OCS 2.9.2 for LDAP authentication. LDAP users are assigned the sadmin profile. Everything seems to work OK, but the save search function is broken. LDAP user can save the search query but the saved searches doesnt show up.

If I login as local admin user I can see the saved search queries, but LDAP sadmin users cant.

I have another VM running CentOS 8 and OCS2.9.1 and the save search function works in there, so something broke in 2.9.2 maybe? Please check.

API: Find servers with(out) specific software

I need to be able to tell if all Windows Servers which meet specific criteria, have a specific piece of software installed. So I'm looking for an API search that can tell me which have or don't have specific software installed. If possible, I'd like this search this per Tag. Every category of servers has a Tag assigned (where the Tag set in the conf file of the Agent becomes the "Entity" in the OCS server gui).
I'm looking to schedule this weekly, and send out emails in case I find a server.

Therefor PowerShell and the OCS API seemed like a good idea.

I've looked at the API documentation, but it seems there is either too little documentation or what I'm looking for is impossible?

I am able to lookup a single server by searching for its hostname. But that is all I managed to do.

Anyone any tips or example queries that I can re-use ?

Can OCS Inventory detect VMs (Virtual Machines)?

I've installed the OCS agent on VMs (both Ubuntu and Windows), and it successfully sends inventory to the server. However, in the ocsreports module, I don't see a field that classifies the computer as a VM. Is there a field in the ocsreports module or in the database that can tell me whether or not a computer is a VM?

Also, is it possible for OCS to detect VMs present on a host without installing the agent on the VMs themselves? I see a Virtual Machines table in the miscellaneous section but it is always empty.

export recherche multicritere avec clé de registre

Je viens de migrer un server OCS 2.0.5 /Debian vers OCS 2.4.1 /Debian (parc ~14.000 machines).

J'observe le problème suivant :

- dans Inventaire > Recherche multicritères, je peux chercher une clé de registre donnée et la recherche affiche bien (ajout colonne) les champs 'clé de registre: nom' et 'clé de registre: valeur' avec le contenu correct.

- MAIS en clicquant sur export CSV, le fichier contient le bon entête mais dans les colonnes 'clé de registre: nom' et 'clé de registre: valeur', une autre clé de registre et la valeur correspondante à cette autre clé !!!

C'est très surprenant et ... totalement inutilisable ! (C'était fonctionnel en 2.0.5 et très utilisé par les administrateurs.)

(la clé de registre prise est la première de 'select * from regconfig' et la valeur correspond.)

NB : le changement de version serveur d'OCS n'est pas envisagé rapidement.

Few days ago, I migrate a server OCS from 2.0.5 to 2.4.1 (about 14.000 hardware).

I have the problem :

- In Inventory > Search with various criteria, I search about a Registry key and the esult is well with show columns 'Registry key: Name' and 'Registry key: Value'

- BUT, the export in CSV (Download) is bad : headers are Ok (with Registry key: Name and Value), but contents are bad due it's another Registrey key (with corresponding value).

It's quite strange and ... fully un-useable !! (It's was ok in 2.0.5 and usefull by administrators).

(The Registry key used is the first of 'select * from regconfig'.)

retrieve merged computer

Agent, 2.9 (on windows)

I have some test vm with the same virtual mac (not the one actually used for connections); so OCS show me this computer as "duplicates per Mac address".

A workmate, wrongly merged this few machines, question:

1 - is there a log which show me the name of the merged computer?

2 - is there a way to return to go back before the merging operation?
