Why the OSVERSION is not added to the OSNAME?

Using ocsinventory-agent-2.6.1-1.el8.ocs.x86_64 ocsinventory-agent -i --stdout gives this info:

      <OSNAME>CentOS Linux</OSNAME>

      <OSVERSION>8</OSVERSION>

In CentOS 7 (ocsinventory-agent-2.6.0-5.el7.x86_64):

      <OSNAME>CentOS</OSNAME>

      <OSVERSION>7.6.1810</OSVERSION>

I wonder why the OSVERSION is not added to the OSNAME.
