OCS agent in server initiated communication mode?

Good morning everybody

I'm quite new in the OCS world so please let me ask this simple (?) question. A first quick forum search didn't led me to the answer, but maybe you know it or know where I can find it:

Is it possible to establish the communication between OCS server and the client's agent in a server initiated way? We have a few machines running in the www for which it is much easier to let the server connect to them instead of making the server reachable for their agents.

Agent sending inventory is more efficient than a server ask agent ! Due doing hardware and software inventory need some time ! Look at size of xml file inventory.

@jacqhesh Thanks a lot, but the point of efficiency is clear so far. My handicap is that we have a few separated systems which cannot reach the server by network design. To change this would be a little difficult because of security reasons.

But if I understand your answer correctly the way of sending inventory is possible, too? Can you tell me, how or give me a link for a manual / description?
