OCS agent on Solaris 10/11

Hi,

I was able to install OCS Unix agent 2.1.1 on both Solaris 10 and 11 OS versions, but from the OCS server reports we only see software that related to Oracle/SUN but we do not see any application information that are installed on the server (eg; we have Anti-virus installed on the server but it does not show up in "softwares" tab from reports). Does OCS agent looks for only packages that are installed on the server and not the application that are running on the Solaris server? we do not see the file system usage details as well.

Where as on Windows servers we do see the softwares that are installed on the server from the ocsreports. Is OCS agent compatible with Solaris OS?

Thanks!

Hi,

If the other softwares are installed in user home directories you can use the option --scan-homedirs but softwares that aren' t be installed with solaris software manager can not be inventoried.

Hello,

We have more than 200 Solaris 10 with OCS Unix agent 2.1.1 with a custom CPU.pm (you can find it here, if you want).
I'm not the system admin in charge of the solaris (I'm the project manager of OCS) , but I'm sure we don't have problems with files system usage details (on both x86 or Sparc architecture) :

For the software inventory, we deploy some custom scripts with OCS to have a complete software inventory.

Regards,
Bexounet.
