Deploy OCS NG Agent to more than 500 client systems

I am using OCS Inventory NG 2.3 in my setup. I happen to read this link  http://wiki.ocsinventory-ng.org/index.php?title=Documentation:DeployTool. Any other alternative to auto discover all the clients in the network instead of adding OCS NG agent on every client machine using Deploy tool since adding agent on almost 500 machines is cumbersome and any way to automate it.
Please suggest.

Hi,

Deploy only one agent on the server and use snmp to discover and inventory machines.

Hi Frank,

Thanks Frank for the reply. What i understand is to install Ocsinventory-Unix-Agent-2.3.tar.gz on the Linux server running  OCSNG_UNIX_SERVER-2.3.tar.gz and then on the web interface use SNMP to scan all printers, switches, computers and SNMP will populate the MySQL Database or do i need to add it manually?

Please correct me if i am understanding it completely wrong. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

Agent with SNMP will inventory only devices where SNMP is installed and activated. On all other devices where SNMP is not present you need to install ocs agent (Windows, Unix, MacOS). For deploying the agent on Windows we have a tool named Agent-Deploy-Tool available here => https://github.com/OCSInventory-NG/Agent-Deployment-Tool/releases/download/2.3/OCSNG-Agent-Deploy-Tool-2.3.zip
