How to use the tag and what is it for?

Let me explain, we have a fleet of Windows 10 PCs and we need to install the OCS client but we do not want a duplicate after reinstalling a PC.
What I read is to use a tag. Can this tag be the same for all PCs? And it preferable to put the tag from the OCS admin console?
How can we do ?
