Difference between last inventory and last contact

Hi,

from quite a long time now some of my inventoried PCs are not updating their inventories, although they are successfully conecting to server:

All of them are getting stuck on IpDiscover, log looks like this:

Starting OCS Inventory Agent on Thursday, October 12, 2023 09:23:54.

AGENT => Running OCS Inventory Agent Version 2.10.1.0

AGENT => Using OCS Inventory FrameWork Version 2.10.1.0

AGENT => Loading plug-in(s)

AGENT => Using network connection with Communication Server

AGENT => Using Communication Provider <OCS Inventory cURL Communication Provider> Version <2.9.2.0>

AGENT => Sending Prolog

AGENT => Prolog successfully sent

AGENT => Inventory required

AGENT => Launching hardware and software checks

AGENT => Communication Server asks for IpDiscover

IpDiscover settings:

Any idea what may cause this issue?

Thanks for any help.

Make your brain better ...

A Windows computer run agent as service. So 2 or 3 times during the day, the agent connect the server. But the server accept ONLY 1 inventory by day. So there is (last) 'contact time' and (last) 'inventory time'.

For Linux, usually agent is run by cron and not as service. (So avoid run agent of all you Linux agent at the same time !)

Yes, I know that, but do you see dates of last inventory?

Some of them are not getting inventoried FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS, NOT 1 DAY, so maybe you should read my post with comprehension before you talk.

For me

Usually, I sort the list using 'last come' = the last time the agent reach OCS server.

I understand your real question : some computer could contact OCS Server but the inventory time stay at very old time.

You have some general settings about Inventory and Server : if you change defaults settings, you could get trouble.

For me (keep on default values) :
Inventory : Frequency = Always inventoried

Server : Prolog Freq = 24 (this is the MAIN setting !)
