Starting point of the problem mentioned here (Can't clean duplicate entries) was the fact that our Citrix terminal servers generate many duplicate entries. Our terminal server infrastructure consists of over 60 VMs which are generated out of 1 vDisk (Citrix PVS) and will be rebooted weekly. In the vDisk (Master Image) is the OCS Inventory NG Agent 2.0.5.0 installed as a service. At the end of February we upgraded our OCS server (VM with CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611) from 2.0 to 2.3 (now 2.3.1). I suppose that since then after every reboot every PVS based VM generates a new entry in the OCS database. Before the upgrade I cleaned up round about 60 to 100 duplicate entries every ~6 month. Now I got over 1000 duplicate entries after only 2 (!) month consisting almost completely of those PVS based terminal servers. As this phenomenon did not occur with ocs server version 2.0 I suppose that the new server version is the culprit?
Does anybody has experienced similar problems? We will upgrade the agent in the vDisk asap. But maybe a server or agent configuration change could resolve this issue as well?
Thanks in advance
Does really nobody else has such problems with 2.3.X? Up today we have more irrelavant duplicates than regular entries in our inventory:
This makes our inventory unusable!
I hope someone can shed some light on this issue.
