Connected printers not inventoried

Hello,

When I installed the agent as a service on my computer, an let the inventory to be executed just after installation, all connected printers to my computers where detected and inventoried on the OCS Server.

Since this installation, the OCS agent service runs, an I lost the printers.

I want to keep the service mode because of the tele-deploiement capabilities.

What can I do to recover my printers ?

This is a common problem because the agent run in user service and your printer are installed for the current user of your computer. As it, windows don't give the printer information to the agent.

This is a windows problem and not an OCS problem.

If we found a solution other than install the printer for all users, we will include it in the agent.

If the agent runs in service mode, it may search in HKCU register to find printers. Is it possible?
