Hi,
our infrastructure is OS Windows: we have installed on the same server Windows Server 2008 R2 all roles: OCS Inventory NG 2.1.1 ( Admin Console, Inventory, Communication and Deployment ) + Database MySql.
Now We would try to use 2 Servers (Win2008 R2) with the role "Distribution Point" -> for OCS "Redistribution Group".. we read the various explanations and post on the OCS Community, but we did not understand what we're doing wrong (the distribution from the "Main" Server OCS is OK).
!! PROBLEM !! ON THE CLIENT WE DON'T SEE ANYTHING IN THE LOGS FILES, THERE IS NO TRACE OF ANY DOWNLOAD OF PACKAGE.. NO ERROR.. IT SEEMS THAT NOT RECOGNIZE THAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED A PACKAGE.
Following the steps that we performed:
- Installed on the Servers "Redistribution Group" xampp-win32-1-8-3-4-VC11 (the rel. 1.7.7 not working) and created the folders "download" and "server" in the directory C:/Xampp/htdocs/... Apache Service is running.
- Installed OCS Agent on the Servers with the cacert.pem of the OCS Server.
- Created a script with Robocopy to copy the Packages from the OCS Server to Reditribution Servers
- Created a "Redistribution Group" by Console -> My Group is 'RG_SRVDISTR'
- Created a "Rules of affectation": 1 IPSUBNET = @IP
- The settings options on the Console in the tab "CONFIG" are:
