OCS Inventory never stops and blocks the login script

Hi,

as stated in the name sometimes the ocs inventory never stops his task and blocks my login scripts. Which is VERY bad because then the cmd.exe windows never disappears (users are calling me for that reason...) and sometimes the network drives are NOT mounted.

The system is as follows: the loginscript starts the ocslogon.exe.

Installing it as a service is not an option.

The ocslogon.log file looks like this:

********************************************************
Starting OCS Inventory NG Logon Installer 2.1.0.3 on 17/06/2015 at 11:47:15
Checking if not already running...OK
Parsing command line arguments...OK
Searching OCS Inventory NG Agent installed version...OK (2.1.1.1)
OCS Inventory NG Agent version 2.1.1.1 already installed, skipping setup.
Windows does not automatically start OCS Inventory NG Service, so starting Agent <C:\Program Files (x86)\OCS Inventory Agent\OCSInventory.exe>...

And thats it...

This is really bugging me, i hope someone can help or at least tell me where to look.

Best Wishes,

Chris

Hi,

What sort of gpo are you using? I presume you use an user gpo. For OCS, it's better and recommanded to use a computer gpo as described here http://wiki.ocsinventory-ng.org/index.php/Documentation:WindowsAgent#Deploying_or_running_Agent_through_Active_Directory_GPO.

I didnt use GPO, i used a login script. But since you said Computer GPO were better i switched. Now the login script has no problems anymore but no Computers are beeing shown as having been contacted for days. By Company Policy i am not allowed to install it as a service.

Best Wishes,

Chris
