Virtual network interface

Hi

We have deployed ~900 computers on our network and we are facing an odd bug.
Some, but not all, of our computers have several network adapters where one of them is real and the others are virtual adapters. These virtual adapters seem to get the same virtual IP given by Windows on the range of 169.254.x.x along the same MAC for those adapters. But the real network card have a correct IP and MAC.

On the main page of our server those computers appear with the wrong IP (those 169.254.x.x windows given IPs) instead of the real IP they should show.
What can we do to fix it?

The wrong IPs seems to be saved on HARDWARE.IPADDR while the true IPs are always on HARDWARE.IPSRC.
Should we exchange those values on "Apache/Ocsinventory/Server/Inventory/Update/Hardware.pm"?

Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Do you use a DHCP server to distribut Client IP configuration ?

It look like an intermittent DHCP allocation fail

Thanks for replying my question.

Actually, all our computers have fixed IP, although it looks like some computers might have a second network card that is misconfigured as the IP range is given by the Microsoft DHCP service.

I don't know if it's possible to setup the desired network card as default for the OCS server or we will have to disable those misconfigured cards on the computers.

Also, some computers with just one network card with a fixed IP are having the same issue and their IP appear as given by the Microsoft DHCP service.

Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Is the second address with APIPA on another card or the same ?

If you have a second card but it is not connected to a device it should not have an IP address (the interface is down)
